Douglass Marine Company Surveyors Attend The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) in Tampa

Accredited Marine Surveyors® Keith and Diane, attended the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference held at the Tampa Convention Center on October 1st through 3rd, 2024. The conference featured educational seminars, several of which Keith and Diane attended, three levels of exhibition halls, outdoor pavilions and a marina with a variety of vessels and equipment. Seminars the Douglasses attended obtaining continuing education included Gel Coat Repair, Conducting Damage Claim Investigation process and report writing, and Engine Failure Analysis.

A total of 277 exhibitors from around the world displayed diverse types of marine related equipment, construction and finishing products, sustainable technologies, among others. Also exhibiting were compliance, enforcement and educational and standards organizations including the USCG, National Marine Manufacturer’s Association, American Boat & Yacht Council and the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS)®. Keith and Diane manned the SAMS® booth all three days when not attending a seminar. Fortunately, the conference ended the day before category 2 Hurricane Helene, the worst hurricane to Hillsboro and Pinellas Counties (Tampa and St. Petersburg) since 1921 struck the area.
