On Saturday April 23, 2022, Keith and Diane attended the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors® Florida Regional Meeting held at the Pelican Yacht Club, in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Following the Regional Business Meeting were six educational seminars on a variety of topics. The couple participated to gain knowledge in the ever changing marine field and obtain continuing education credits needed to maintain their accreditation.

The first presentation titled “DC Power Source and Progression of DC Technology” was presented by a mechanical engineer from Sebastian, Florida and discussed DC power now used in submersibles and the advantages and disadvantages of various types of batteries. Other presentations included common issues with various outboard motors by Tactical Marine, Key Largo, Florida, a presentation by the National Secretary/Treasurer regarding becoming a mentor for a new marine surveyor, a presentation regarding surveyor conduct and best practices, and another on personal safety.
